West Coast College was made up of several smaller satellites before 1999. These merged and were formally recognised as a FET College in 2002. The final FET college established in the Western Cape was West Coast College. The college now has five campuses, and unlike other colleges that were built around the core of an already-existing technical college, its systems had to be created from the ground up. In 2015, the Central Office relocated, and the college formally changed its name from FET College to TVET College. West Coast TVET College is a place where opportunity meets innovation. The college is very happy to announce the opening of the online application process for the academic year 2026-2027. West Coast TVET College recognizes the importance of utilizing technology to improve the learning experience and make education more accessible to all. The application portal of West Coast closes by September 30, therefore prospective students are urged to submit their applications on time before the closing date. Returning students must apply by 15 November every year to indicate that they will be returning online.

The Online Application platform for the 2026-2027 academic year is designed for the convenience of all prospective applicants, allowing them to apply from the comfort of their own homes or from anywhere with an internet connection. Only those who meet the legal prerequisites for admission to study at the institution and any additional requirements for admission that may be established by the College may register as students at West Coast TVET College. The college encourages all students to apply and register online. Even if you come to the campus, the online process must be followed.

West Coast TVET College Online Application Opening 2026-2027 Details

• For NC(V), S1, and T1, the application procedure must begin in August of the previous year; for T2, S2, and T3, it must begin in March, May, and July of the current academic year.
• All applications must be submitted by the end of October of the previous year for NC(V), T1, and S1, and by March 31 for T2, June 15 for S2, and July 31 for T3 of the following academic year.
• Late applications may not be considered at West Coast College, therefore, all applications must be submitted on time.

The following documents and information are required to apply at West Coast 2026-2027

• Proof of payment of your registration fee(compulsory for SA and International applicants)
• Certified copy of your ID document(ID document compulsory for SA citizens – your application cannot be processed without a certified copy of your ID and Passport Number for International Applicants
• Exam Results: Final Grade 12 results (if available). Grade 11 results (if currently doing grade 12) are very important for your application. Thus, have it on hand.
• Remember you will need a unique email address when applying either online or in a hard copy.
