Most of the accredited and registered 50 TVET Colleges in South Africa are still open for applications for the 2025 academic year. Prospective students who have an interest in pursuing higher education at TVET colleges may take this opportunity and apply for admission into the 2025 academic year. You may submit your application for the academic year NOW as the application portal has been open for all undergraduate and postgraduate applications into the upcoming academic year.

TVET Colleges Application Opening Date

The applicants’ opening dates of TVET Colleges typically fall on April 1. Applicants are allowed to submit their completed applications from this date. The application portal; of TVET Colleges Normally closes on November 30, all applications must be submitted before the closing date to avoid rejection.

TVET Colleges Application Requirements

TVET Colleges, which are part of the Higher Education system, admit students who have completed Grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 in high school.
TVET College courses are a good option for post-graduates from universities who wish to gain additional practical experience. One of the benefits of attending a TVET college is that it places a high value on student employability by requiring practical training as part of the curriculum (internships and apprenticeships)

Documents needed to apply At Tvet Colleges

Before applying to the college, the following documents are required:

  • 3 certified copies of the ID of the Learner
  • 3 certified copies of the ID of the Parent/Legal Guardian
  • One ID-size photo
  • Copy Certified of latest school report/Grade 9 or Higher
  • A unique Email address and cellphone number.

How To Apply For TVET Colleges

To apply for a TVET College, complete the online application form on the official website of the college. Follow the steps below to apply;

  • Visit the official website of the TVET Colleges
  • Download and complete the online application form with the necessary information
  • Upload supporting documents. Certified copies of the following documents must be uploaded:

South African applicants

  1.  Certified copy of your ID
  2. Proof of residence address
  3. Certified copy of your matric results/last grade passed

Foreign Applicants

  1. Valid Passport
  2. Study Permit or Visa to Study in South Africa
  3.  Certificate of Foreign Qualification evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority.
  • Submit your completed application before the closing date.
