DHET TVET Colleges
The Department of Higher Education and Training’s (DHET) vision is South Africa’s vision, with a differentiated and completely comprehensive post-school system, providing access to post-school education and training related to South African people. And then, inclusive economic and social participation. The ministry’s mission is to develop competent, educated, and skilled citizens who can compete in a sustainable, diverse, and knowledge-intensive international economy that is in line with national development goals.
The department performs this task in the following ways: Reduce skill shortages, especially in priority skill areas. Improve participation in the system. Modify the distribution of shapes, sizes, and distributions of access to after-school education and training. Improve the quality and efficiency of systems, their subsystems, and institutions.
The branch in the department that is responsible for dealing with TVET colleges is known as the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) branch and consists of the following programs and subprograms:

The Role of DHET TVET Colleges
The “Department of Higher Education and Training” is known as DHET in South Africa. It is a government agency in charge of managing and regulating the nation’s higher education and vocational education and training systems. Universities and other institutes of higher education in South Africa are under the control of DHET.
It establishes guidelines, allots resources, and guarantees the standard of instruction and research at these establishments.TVET colleges, which offer practical and vocational instruction to prepare students with skills for a variety of sectors, are governed by DHET. By providing training that is in line with the demands of the labour market, these institutions are essential in tackling the skills gap and unemployment.
