Will TVET Colleges Receive Laptops

YES. All TVET Colleges receive laptops from NSFAS. As part of the South African government’s mission to ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic does not have an impact on teaching and learning at higher education and training institutions, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation directed NSFAS to procure learning devices for students to ensure that the blended learning methodology is implemented. Following that, the NSFAS Digital Learning Device Programme was launched. All eligible students of NSFAS can apply for their laptops Now.

How To Order NSAFS Laptops

To receive a laptop, you must meet the eligibility requirements and must be enrolled in a public TVET College. To order complete the DLD form. Follow the steps below to order NSFAS Laptops;

• Collect, complete and submit the Digital Learning Device (DLD) form to your Financial Aid Office (FAO) on campus.
• Order your laptop on the DLD online order portal via the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za.
• Once the verification process is complete, an order for your laptop will be placed with our service providers to dispatch the device for delivery.
• You will be called by the laptop service provider or your institution to arrange collection/delivery once it’s in.
• Provide your ID/birth certificate and proof of academic registration/student card from your institution before receiving your device.
• Agree to the terms and conditions as set out by your institution before receiving your learning device.

NB: No one other than the student who is approved to receive a laptop may collect the device.

NSFAS Eligibility Criteria

You qualify for an NSFAS bursary if you are a South African citizen who plans to study in 2025 or you are already studying at a public university or TVET college and you meet the following requirements:

• South African citizens or permanent residents
• SASSA grant recipients
• Applicants whose combined gross household income is not more than R350 000 per year
• Persons with disabilities whose combined gross household income is not more than R600 000 per year.
• Must have an email account and cell phone number.
