TVET Colleges In Gauteng

Tvet Colleges in Gauteng is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), formerly, FET college, operating under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in terms of the Continuing Education and Training Act, Act No.16 of 2006, as amended. The College is accredited by Umalusi and several Sector Education and Training Authorities (Seta’s) to offer education and training, mostly in the FET band (NQF Level 2 to 4). TVET colleges offer a different path for people who prefer hands-on learning and are looking for immediate employment in the job market in Gauteng, where industries are always changing and requiring skilled labour. These institutions give students specialised instruction and training in a range of subjects, giving them the real-world skills they need for work and self-employment. TVET colleges offer a wide range of courses, from engineering and construction to hospitality and information technology. These programs are designed to meet the needs of industries and businesses, ensuring that graduates are ready to enter the workforce with relevant skills.

Students who complete the new three-year TVET curriculum offered by TVET colleges are awarded the National Certificate (Vocational) [NC (V)]. Two doors are being opened for successful students by this qualification. With a purposeful vocational focus in their education, students who earn the NC (V) Level 4 qualification can enter the workforce. Tshwane South TVET College, Ekurhuleni West TVET College, and Central Johannesburg TVET College are some of the most well-known TVET colleges in Gauteng. These institutions are important in preparing students for the workforce and addressing the country’s skills shortage.
