Technical and Vocational Education and Training (abbreviated TVET) comprises vocational, occupational and Artisan education and training. This band of education and training is also referred to as ‘post-school’, meaning that it refers to education and training that takes place after leaving school, even if only with a Grade 9 completed.

TVET colleges are educational institutions that specialise in providing students with practical and vocational training that prepares them for the workforce market. These colleges serve a wide range of businesses and sectors by bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. While traditional universities and colleges frequently emphasize academics, TVET institutions emphasize practical skill development, educating students for specific jobs and sectors.
