Qualification And Requirements for TVET

Qualifications and requirements for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes vary by the college, qualification and programme. However, the general requirements are listed below;

• The minimum requirement is a successful Grade 9, but even better is successful Grade 10, 11 and Grade 12.
• A year-end school report for Grade 9 or higher; or
• An NQF Level 1 Qualification; or
• ABET Level 4
• A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to meet the basic requirement for access to NQF Level 2

To apply for a TVET Course/program, you must provide the following documents;

• Birth Certificate/Identity Document (Proof of application for new ID/Passport)
• Certificates/Qualifications
• Recent Academic results
• Municipal billing document/other account statements (not older than 3 months)
• A valid study permit (Foreign national students)
• The South African Qualification Authority’s (SAQA) Evaluation Certificate (foreign qualifications).

Application for TVET must be done online on the official website of the TVET College you wish to attend. TVET Applications involve simple steps. Follow the guidelines below to apply for TVET;

Step 1: Get your application form the college of your choice

All new applications are online on the official website of the college by visiting the official website of the college.

Step 2: Complete your application form in full

Provide the required information to complete the spaces on the form. Ensure you provide a valid e-mail, ID and cell phone number. Your ID, e-mail and cell phone are used to authenticate you.

Step 3: Attach all supporting documents.

All applicants starting a new qualification are required to upload the following certified documents:

• Birth Certificate/Identity Document (Proof of application for new ID/Passport)
• Certificates/Qualifications
• Recent Academic results
• Municipal billing document/other account statements (not older than 3 months)
• A valid study permit (Foreign national students)
• The South African Qualification Authority’s (SAQA) Evaluation Certificate (foreign qualifications).
