NSFAS acknowledges the significance of digital inclusivity in the educational system and has taken proactive measures to aid students in acquiring laptops or other digital gadgets. The institution has launched initiatives like the NSFAS Digital Learning Devices (DLD) program, designed to furnish eligible students with laptops or tablets. These devices are aimed at facilitating online learning and providing access to educational materials.
Through the NSFAS DLD program, students meeting the criteria at TVET colleges stand a chance to receive either subsidized or fully funded digital devices. The level of support is contingent upon their financial circumstances and academic performance. These devices are intended to bolster students’ educational endeavours, especially in light of the escalating digitization trends within the educational landscape.
The NSFAS DLD program serves as a testament to NSFAS’s dedication to bridging the digital gap and ensuring equitable access to essential educational tools for all students.

NSFAS-funded TVET students: You must be a continuing student who was enrolled in 2023 and is presently enrolled in 2024.

NSFAS supports university students in the following ways: You must be enrolled in a public institution to apply for a learning device; both new and returning students may apply.

To order and receive:

  • Complete the DLD form:

Collect, complete, and return the Digital Learning Device (DLD) form to your campus’s Financial Aid Office (FAO). Order your laptop using the DLD online order portal at www.nsfas.org.za. NSFAS and your university will validate your information as well as your order.

Remember that after you have been contacted for delivery and pickup of the device, no one may accept or collect it on your behalf; you must be there and sign before it is given over to you.

  • Identification:

You must produce your ID/birth certificate and proof of academic registration/student card from your institution before receiving your device.

  • Agree to the terms and conditions:

Before getting your learning device, you must agree to the terms and conditions outlined by your university.
